FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ABOUT GROOMING
-
The frequency depends on your dog’s breed, coat type, and lifestyle. For most dogs, grooming every 4-6 weeks helps keep their coat healthy and free of mats. Short-haired breeds may need less frequent grooming, while long-haired or double-coated breeds may require more frequent appointments.
-
Our full grooming service includes a bath, blow-dry, brush-out, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and a haircut if needed.
-
The grooming process typically takes 2-4 hours, depending on the size of the dog, the coat condition, and the type of service requested. We’ll provide an estimated pickup time when you drop off your dog.
-
We understand that some dogs may feel anxious during grooming. We are experienced in handling nervous dogs with care and patience, offering a calm and soothing environment. We also take breaks as needed to keep your pet comfortable.
-
Please ensure your dog has had a potty break before arriving. If possible, brush your dog to remove any major tangles to avoid additional fees. If your dog has any specific health concerns or sensitivities, let us know when booking the appointment so we can tailor the experience to their needs.
-
For the safety of your dog and the groomer, we ask that pet parents do not stay in the grooming area. Dogs tend to be more relaxed without their owners present. You are welcome to wait in your vehicle or run errands while your dog is being pampered.
-
If your dog’s fur is matted, we’ll assess the severity and recommend the best course of action. Sometimes, a close shave may be necessary to prevent discomfort and skin issues. Regular grooming can help avoid mats in the future.
-
We use high-quality, pet-safe shampoos, conditioners, and grooming products. If your dog has specific skin sensitivities or allergies, please let us know, and we can accommodate their needs.
-
Due to the low volume, home based atmosphere of our business, we are unable to accommodate walk-in appointments. We recommend scheduling your appointment as far in advance as possible to be sure to get an appointment on the day and time that works best for you.
-
Pricing depends on the size, breed, and specific services requested. We’re happy to provide an estimate when you book your appointment, although this pricing may change depending on several factors, such as the condition of your dog's coat and any special handling that may be required. Here are the top 10 reasons why your dog's haircut costs more than yours:
10. Your hairdresser doesn’t wash and clean your rear end.
9. You don’t go for 8 weeks without brushing your hair.
8. Your hairdresser doesn’t have to give you a sanitary trim.
7. Your hairdresser doesn’t have to clean your ears.
6. Your hairdresser doesn’t have to clean boogies from your eyes.
5. You sit still for your hairdresser.
4. Your haircut doesn’t include a manicure or pedicure.
3. Your hairdresser only washes and cuts the hair on your head.
2. You don’t bite or scratch your hairdresser. (I hope not anyway.)
1. The likelihood of you pooping or peeing while your hair is being cut is extremely slim.
